Privacy Policy

Impro is a macOS application made by Sergei Filkov, a sole proprietor established in the country of Georgia ("we"). This policy explains what the app and the website impro.app collect, and what they do not.
1. What the app does with audio
Impro listens to your microphone and, if you allow it, the audio your Mac plays during a call. Speech is transcribed on your Mac by Apple's speech frameworks. Audio is never recorded, stored, or uploaded by Impro. For languages Apple's on-device model does not cover, Apple's cloud recogniser may process short audio segments under Apple's privacy terms.
2. What leaves your Mac
To write your lines, Impro sends the last few minutes of the transcript and your briefing (the text you typed during onboarding and the call topic) to Anthropic's Claude API using your own API key. That data is processed under Anthropic's terms; we never see it. Nothing else about your calls is sent anywhere.
3. Licensing and trial
The app sends an opaque device identifier (a SHA-256 hash of your Mac's hardware UUID) to our server to register the install, the free trial, and license activations. We store that hash, your purchase email (from Paddle), the license key, and activation timestamps. The raw hardware UUID never leaves your Mac.
4. Website
impro.app keeps a first-party, cookieless count of page views and clicks by day, path, referring site and country. No IP addresses or identifiers are stored. If you ask us to email the download link, we store that address and whether you opted into product updates. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link.
5. Payments
Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details under its own privacy policy; we receive your email and the transaction id.
6. Sharing
We share data only with the processors above (Apple, Anthropic (model), Paddle, Cloudflare for hosting, Resend for transactional email). We do not sell data.
7. Retention
License records are kept for as long as the license exists plus what tax law requires. Trial and install stamps are kept to enforce one trial per Mac. Mailing-list rows are deleted on request.
8. Your rights
You can ask for a copy or deletion of the data we hold about your email or device at any time: support@impro.app.
9. Children
Impro is not directed at children under 16.
10. Changes
We will post changes here with a new date.
